| INTERN TO COVER 2012 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION |
| The Lake County-Sentinel is looking for writers on an intern basis (Non-paying) (But with the possibility of full time in the future) to cover the 2012 Presidential primaries and general election campaigns. The Sentinel needs an individual that can write non-bias articles about the presidential election. This would mean that they would be straight new stories about the election, not opinions. If you are looking to get into journalism on a full time basis this would give you some valuable experience. You would not work from an office all contact would either be by phone or e-mail. What we are looking for is a person who could write up to possibly three articles a week about the election from now up until the election in November. Candidates must have outstanding communication and networking skills to assist with building/maintaining relationships with donors and community partners. Minimum educational level is Bachelor's degree. Candidates must have prior experience in soliciting major gifts, developing successful foundation proposals, board development, developing an annual fund and implementing successful special events. This position requires public speaking; planning and excellent organizational skills. Must also be detail-oriented. Interpersonal communication skills a must! Computer knowledge should include Windows XP, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook. A valid Drivers License, safe driving record, reliable transportation and proof of insurance are required.
