(CLEVELAND, OH) - Going to any sporting event in any city across the US is always an experience, but who you go with and what you do will always yield a different result. Is it a family outing? Going with a group of friends? Maybe even a date night. Every experience is different. What about an experience in a young season with a first place Cleveland Cavaliers team.
Luke and Christine with their kids Leo and Lexi of Willoughby were asked what their favorite part of coming to the game was. Lexi jumped in and said, "spending quality time as a family". Christine then said, "the excitement of the game". Leo, after being asked the same question, gave a simple answer. "Everything." This was the first game of the season for the family of four and they were extremely excited to see the Cavs play. Lexi and Leo were asked who they were excited to see on the team. Lexi said Jarrett Allen, while Leo without thinking said he is a big Donovan Mitchell fan.
Talking with the father and son duo, Russell and Apollo from Shaker Heights who come to many games, with Russell even pointed out he has been coming to games for over forty years since the Cavs played in Richfield at the Coliseum, Apollo said he loved "the atmosphere and everything about the Jumbotron. Especially when it shoots out fire before the game." He went on to say his favorite player was Darius Garland who is a fan favorite. Russell said "I love this team. They have the pieces to win it all if they can stay injury free, they need a little luck as well, but I think they can do it. He is also a fan of Cavs head coach Kenny Atkinson.
Andrew and Kayla of Minnesota attend as many Cavs games as they can. Kayla talked about how she loved sitting in the lower section near the court because you can feel the arena when it's loud. Andrew said he loves how every game they have been to feels like a playoff atmosphere. "The team is amazing and when you have that type of atmosphere every single home game, it makes coming to games even more special. This team feels like they can go the distance and win it all, No question" he finished.
The family of three Aaron, Jen, and Andrew from North Carolina were attending their first Cavs game ever. They moved to North Carolina after living in nearby Medina. Andrew is a fan of all Cleveland sports teams, especially the Cavs and the Guardians. They are visiting family for Thanksgiving and could have waited a week to see the Cavaliers play in Charlotte against the Hornets but wanted to experience a Cavs game in Cleveland. They not only wanted to just see the game, but also experience Cleveland as a city and see as much as they could. Andrew said "It doesn't matter if the team is good or not. I've always been a Cleveland fan, but having the best record in the NBA is a bonus to coming to the game."
The Cleveland Cavaliers have fans all across the country and they come to the game’s night in and night out. The atmosphere of a Cavs game is second to none, but it's the fans themselves that make that explosive atmosphere that the players feed off of. Just shy of a quarter of the way through this 2024-2025 season, the Cleveland faithful already have their eyes set on another championship. The belief in the players and the coaches is there from every fan in every corner of the country.
