2025 Wickliffe graduate John Colacarro has moved "Mountains" to get his book published

(WICKLIFFE, OH) - In 2023 when John Colacarro was a sophomore at Wickliffe High School, he began to write poetry. 400 poems later John has realized his dream and is a published author.
On May 19th John graduated from Wickliffe High school. Weeks earlier he announced via social media that his book of poems was going to be published and was now available the collection of poems titled “Mountains”. The books is published through “IngramSpark” they are a self-publishing company that assists aspiring authors with getting their work published and then sold through Amazon and many other major booksellers such as Barnes & Noble.















John did take college credit plus poetry classes in high school.

One of the reasons John gives as his inspiration to go forward and attempt to publish the book was the support of his mother's Julie and Angie Colacarro. John says they have been supportive since he mentioned the idea and they said,” Let’s do it.” John also mentioned that writing the poetry was therapeutic and he thought that if the poems helped him, they might help someone else which was another reason that he wanted to publish the book.

As mentioned earlier, John recently graduated from high school and was a member of the National Honors Society. John served in many activities during his four years at Wickliffe including class vice president, Learn Lead Serve, Rockefeller Road Revue, the Blue Devil Broadcast, Code Blue and Gold Podcast, prom committee, morning announcements. He was a four-year varsity starter on the Wickliffe bowling team. He participated in Kindland, was on the Kindness Crew and was a Community Circle leader and was a member of the honor roll and principles list and a cum Laude graduate with over 200 hours of community service. He was also a member of the choir, OMEA Honor Choir, office aid, yearbook committee. John was also the keynote speaker at graduation and was the Wickliffe 2025 prom king.

John will be attending The Ohio State in the fall to study law. The recent Blue Devils graduate mentioned that law has always been something he wanted to study after High School. John’s mother Julie, a 1987 Wickliffe graduate also attended The Ohio State. But before John leaves he has some work to do as he currently works as a host at Texas Roadhouse in Willoughby, a job he really seems to enjoy.

However, on May 28th at 7:00 PM John will have his first book signing and meet the author knight at Wickliffe Public Library. Wickliffe Public Library is located at 1713 Lincoln Rd. Wickliffe OH 44092. John will discuss his book and then afterward the book will be for sale, and he will sign copies of “Mountains.
