Captains lose fourth straight to Hot Rods

The Lake County Captains and Bowling Green Hot Rods played game four of their game series on Wednesday night at Classic Park. For the fourth game in a row the Hot Rods came out on top, this time by a score of 7-2.
Bowling Green got on the board immediately in the first inning with a single run off Captains starter Casey Shane.
The Hot Rods added another run in the third inning to increase their lead to 2-0.
Then the big blow in the fourth inning with a man on Shane gave up a home run to Brett Sullivan to extend BG's lead to 4-0. The home run for Sullivan was his 12th of the season.
The Captains finally got on the board in the fifth inning when L-Jen Chu hit a solo shot over the right field fence. The home run was Chu's first of the season.
Bowling Green continued to add to Lake County's misery as they added another run in the sixth inning, Shane's final inning of work. Bowling Green led 5-1.
BG added single runs in the eighth and ninth innings off Captains relievers Argenis Angulo and Yoiber Marquina.
The Captains put their final run on the board in the bottom of the eighth inning when Willi Castro walked with one out. Castro then stole second, his 16th steal of the season. With Jodd Carter at the plate Castro advanced to third on a wild pitch by BG reliever Tyler Brashears. Then Castro scored when Carter singled to center field.
Shane took the loss for the Captains and falls to 8-11 with a 4.55 ERA. Genesis Cabrera picked up the win for the Hot Rods. With the win Cabrera improves to 11-4 with a 3.85 ERA.
On Thursday night the two teams will finish the five game series. Righty Jose Mujica will be on the mound for the Hot Rods. Mujica is 7-3 with a 3.50 ERA. Trevor Foss will be on the mound for Lake County. Foss, a righthander is 2-2 with a 2.88 ERA.
