Browns collapse against Jets, fall to 0-8 with 30-28 loss

(CLEVELAND, OH) - The New York Jets (3-5) scored 24 unanswered second half points to beat the Cleveland Browns (0-8) 31-28 in front of thousands of empty orange seats at First Energy Stadium on Sunday.
After jumping out to a 20-7 first half lead, propelled by the return of Josh McCown at quarterback and 101 receiving yards by Terrelle Pryor, the Browns reminded everyone why they came into the game as the leagues only winless team.
Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was returning to the starting lineup after being benched in favor of Geno Smith, shredded the Browns defense in the second half as he led three long scoring drives to pull the Jets back from a 13-point deficit.
Cleveland’s only score of the second half came with just 12 seconds left on the clock as they marched down the field on a sluggish and mismanaged final drive to make the final score look a lot closer than it was.
The Browns will try to look like a real NFL football team again next week when they host the Cowboys.
