Captains cut down by LumberKings 5-0

(EASTLAKE, OH) - Friday night at Classic Park the Lake County Captains wrapped up their three-game series with the Clinton LumberKings. Unfortunately for 5,758 in attendance the Captains bats were silent as they were shut out by Clinton 5-0
The LumberKings jumped on the Captains and starter Juan Hillman early in the first inning with two runs.
Hillman settled down after the first inning and went five innings allowing only the one run on five hits. He also issued three base on balls and struck out nine LumberKings batters.
Meanwhile Clinton starter Clay Chandler dominated the Captains through six innings giving up only three base hits. He issued one base on balls and struck out two Captains.
The LumberKings added three runs in the eighth off Captains reliever Felix Tati to extend their lead to 5-0.
Chandler picked up the win for the LumberKings improving to 6-1 with a 3.16 ERA. Hillman took the loss and falls to 3-10 with a 5.10 ERA.
Saturday night the Captains will start a three games series with the Burlington Bees (Los Angeles Angels). Denny Brady will be on the mound for the Bees. Brady, a righty is 0-3 with 8.18. The Captains will send Jean Carlos Mejia to the hill. Mejia is also a righty and is 2-4 with a 3.42 ERA.
